Jovanne is amazing. She helps me understand the system, helps me know what is going on with my mom...she is an amazing patient advocate

Javeonne, the activity coordinator was extremely kind to my brother. He was in a nursing care facility because he had an irreparable AVM (brain bleed) that made it difficult to live on his own. Imagine entering a care facility (with most residents 80 or older) when you are only 57. Javeonne went out of her way to talk with him individually about current events and the kind of things that many other residents might not care about. My brother suffered significant memory loss--particularly short-term memory. He had a calendar in his room with the same note written on EVERY DAY. 'Activity 4 p.m.' I think that says everything about how important this segment was to his day--he didn't want to risk forgetting or missing it. I think that speaks for itself, and I'm so grateful for Javeonne's care. I hope she receives a special accommodation for her genuine caring attitude towards his situation. :-) I also appreciate the attentiveness of staff who told me that the day before my brother died, he did not express not feeling well, but did some unusual things: He gave away all his tickets to staff and asked that they distribute them evenly among residents. They did this and celebrated my brother at (what would be) his last meal. Lastly, I'm so glad that my brother had the option of ordering what he wanted to eat most for his last meal: a burger. He must have felt different and known something was coming. I'm so glad that the staff was able to accommodate his wishes. We never know when they may be our last

Current staff very involved and good with my mother. Willing to address any of my concerns. Great about helping mom get out of her room and with other people. Great about helping her w/ bathing and getting dressed and putting batteries in her hearing aide.
